Met forecasts rough seas, rain to large area of Maldives

National Meteorological Center, on Monday, forecasted rain to a large part of the country within the next 24 hours – with thunderstorms in some atolls.

Met Office forecasted West and North West winds of 13 – 23 mph in Southern atolls, and winds of 8 – 10 mph in other regions.

Met also forecasted generally rough seas throughout the country; rougher than usual in Southern atolls.

The weather forecast center has issued a White Alert for Northern, Central and Southern atolls.

And have advised that people obtain the latest weather updates before travel.

Some islands are experiencing flooding due to the bad weather.
