Three employees of the country’s largest private hospital – ADK Hospital – have been arrested in an embezzlement scandal involving over MVR 1 million.
Police have confirmed that they have arrested a 21-year-old man and two 19-year-old men over the case.
ADK Hospital caught wind of the problem and reported it to police on April 30, after which three departments of police conducted a special operation into the case last Monday, with senior management of the hospital.
Police said that two of the suspects were arrested from ADK Hospital, while the third suspect was arrested from the street, near the hospital.
Police found money on their persons at the time of the arrest, while money and evidence related to the crime was found during raids on their homes.
Criminal Court has ordered that the three men be kept under arrest in police custody for an initial remand period of 7 days.
Police said that the three men had snaffled over MVR 1 million from the hospital from start of 2016 until April 29.
