The Bangladeshi government has donated two vehicles to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).
The vehicles include a military grade truck and a jeep according to the MNDF.
At the ceremony held at the MNDF HQ today, the vehicles were presented by the Chief of General Staff of the Bangladeshi Army, Leftenant General, Sabbir Ahmed, who is currently visiting the Maldives on the invitation of the Maldivian Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ahmed Shiyam.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Ahmed Shiyam noted and sent gratitude to the assistance by the Bangladeshi Army in the humanitarian service by the MNDF.
Leftenant General, Sabbir Ahmed also spoke at the ceremony saying that the vehicles donated today represent the historic brotherly friendship between the military of the two countries. And he said that he hopes that the bond would grow stronger in the future.
On his official trip to the Maldives last January, the Chief of Staff of the Bangladeshi Army, General Abu Bilaal Mohamed Shaafiul Haqq also donated seven vehicles to the MNDF lifting the number of vehicles received from Bangladesh to nine.
