L. Mundoo citizens on Wednesday closed down the island’s heath center.
L. Mundoo Island Council said that Mundoo citizens had not received any service from the health center in years, and had finally gone out and closed up the place at 8 am, Wednesday morning.
“Health center was closed at 8, this morning. It has been eight years since we have not received any service from the health center. There is no admin worker, no doctor’s translator there. It has been two years since water has been cut off,” said L. Mundoo Council President, Ibrahim Naeem.

He said that the derelict state of the health center had been shared with Health Minister Iruthisham Adam.
“I met with the minister on January 19 and shared it with her, both with a report, as well as verbally. I also shared pictures showing the state pf the place,” said Ibrahim Naeem.
He said that the minister had promised a substantial solution to the problem within a week’s time.
Ministry of Health has said that they were aware Mundoo Health Center had been closed down, and that they were working on solving the problem.
The ministry said that they had requested with Ministry of Finance to appoint two employees to the health center. And that a team from L. Gan Regional Hospital would arrive in Mundoo on Wednesday to provide healthcare.
