Five foreigners arrested with a large amount of money and alcohol

Police have arrested five foreigners with a large number of alcohol and money.

The four of the five foreigners of Sri Lankan nationality with the ages of 22, 30, 33 and 34 years were arrested with a 28-year-old Bangladeshi national.

According to the police, two of the confiscate alcohol was found in the bag of the 30-year-old man arrested on the street. And five bottles of alcohol were found from the bags of the 22-year-old and the 28-year-old man that came out of the guesthouse of the first man.

Over MVR 44,000 and USD were found along with 33 alcohol bottles during the search of the guesthouse executing a court order.

The case is being investigated by the Drug Enforcement Department of the Police.
