Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has said that the issue of water being cut off to the larger part of Male’ since early Sunday morning will be resolved by nightfall.
Managing Director of MWSC, Ibrahim Fazul reported to “Sun” that they company would be able to provide water at high pressure by nightfall.
“We are working on resolving the water issue. We are trying to resolve it by nightfall,” said Fazul.
MWSC has said that the electricity outage on Saturday had damaged the company’s bow hauls
and distribution pumps and that it was therefore possible that water wouldn’t come to apartments three floors up.
Meanwhile, Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) officers are assisting MWSC in transporting water from Hulhumale’ to Male’.
MNDF said that they have transported about 30 tons of water so far.
