Military officers have started bringing water from Hulhumale to Male, as water is cut off from the greater part of the capital.
Information officer for Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), Major Adnan Mohamed reported on Sunday that military officers were working on transporting water from Hulhumale to Male to assist Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC).
And that they had so far transported 30 tons of water to Male.
Most of the households in Male have been without water since early Sunday morning.
MWSC has said that the electricity outage on Saturday had damaged the company’s bow hauls and distribution pumps and that it was therefore possible that water wouldn’t come to apartments three floors up.
The company said that they were working on resolving the issue. But has not yet provided a time frame during which the problem would be resolved.
