Colonel Nazim ordered to shorten medical trip and return

Former Defence Minster Colonel-retired Mohamed Nazim, sentenced to 11 years in prison for import and possession of a firearm, has been ordered to shorten his approved three weeks of medical leave in Singapore to two weeks and return to the country.

The three weeks approved to Colonel Nazim would expire on 8 April. Media Official of the Corrections Service has said that Colonel Nazim has been ordered to return to the country on 2 April.

Sources say that the medical leave was revoked after Colonel Nazim submitted the Doctor's letter for his eye consultation to extend his medical leave.

High Court has recently ruled against the former Defence Minister in support of his 11-year sentence. The family has said that the case would be appealed at the Supreme Court.
