Police: Don't want to resolve traffic with fines

Head of the Traffic Police Department, Mohamed Daaud has said that it is not the policy of the Police to resolve traffic issues with fines.

Daaud told Sun Media that it's not the policy of the Police or the government to tackle traffic problems with fines. Instead, to resolve them through guidance and advice.

He said that the Commissioner's orders are to keep guiding and reserve action as a last measure.

The Head of the Traffic Police said that when action is required, they would take it but a solution through changing the thinking is better.

And so he said that the Police is seizing motorcycles that has modified silencers and driving recklessly and making the owners change them.

Daaud said that so far over 100 silencers have been changed.
