Indhira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that the man who suffered serious injuries during a brawl which took place at market area on March 11 has regained consciousness.
IGMH information officer Zeenath Ali Habeeb spoke to “Sun” on Tuesday that though the man had regained consciousness, he was still hooked to a ventilator.
The man has now been moved from Intensive Care Unit to High Dependency Unit in Medical Ward of the hospital.
IGMH reported earlier that the man had suffered serious injuries to his head, and that his back was bruised.
The market brawl had taken place at around 2:30 pm on March, 11.
A 36-year-old Maldivian man and a 30-year-old man were arrested in relation to the case.
Police said that the injured man too had been part of the brawl, but that he had landed in hospital after he either fell, or jumped into the lagoon during the scuffle.
