16 exemplary women awarded by WOB

16 women performing exemplary well in the field of finance and economy were celebrated and awarded by Women on Boards (WOB) on Saturday night, in a ceremony held at City Garden.

The certificates were handed over by Dr. Amaal Ali, Chairperson of Leading Women Selection Committee and Rector of MI College.

WOB announced Saturday night that they planned to make a documentary based on the 16 women, and that shooting would start in April.

The organization said that they were holding discussions with foreign countries to garner the documentary – scheduled to be released this year – some international attention.

Women who were awarded the certificate include heads of companies, as well as resourceful entrepreneurs who set up their businesses from scratch and transformed them to successful businesses.

They are:

• Suiza Ibrahim – Managing Director, Suis Salon

• Sana Mansoor – Managing Partner, FJS Associates

• Saniha Ali – Managing Director, Sez Explose Pvt Ltd

• Aminath Nasheeda – Founder, Nashy’s Cakes

• Gameera Adam – Entrepreneur, B. Anhenunfushi

• Juwaria Wajdhee – Entrepreneur and Owner, Juway’s Café and Restaurants

• Fathimath Manike – Islamic Banking Director, Bank of Maldives

• Asima Ali – Director, Co Load Maldives

• Nadhiya Hussein – Chief Financial Officer, Shuaz Investment

• Raheema Adam – Entrepreneur, Advocates for Women’s Entrepreneurship
