Three charges against former PG and four against Nihan

The state has brought up three charges against the former Prosecutor General (PG) Muhuthaz Muhusin and four charges against the Chief Magistrate at the A.Dh. Maamigili Court, Ahmed Nihan.

An official from the Prosecutor General’s Office said that the two were charged today under the new penal code.

The former PG is charged with attempt at illegal detention, misuse of official documents and forgery of official document.

The Chief Magistrate of Maamigili Court was charged with attempt at illegal detention, misuse of official documents, inappropriate behavior as an official of the state and misuse of official authority.

At the High Court, the state said that the investigation proves that the former PG Muhuthaaz went to Maamigili on the night 7 February 2016.
