Nominations open next month for journalism awards

Maldives Media Council has said that nominations of the names for the journalism award in seven categories would open on 1 March.

Every journalist working at a registered media is eligible for the nomination.

The seven categories opened this year are Social, Political, Court and Judicial, Economy and Trade, Sports, Photojournalism and Video Journalism.

An announcement made by the Maldives Media Council said that institutes and independent citizens can nominate names for the journalism awards. Names can be submitted by filling the “Journalist Name Nomination Form 2015” according to the announcement.

The Media Council said that the application form and regulations for marks would be available on their website.

The closing date for nominations is 20 March.
