Black out in Henveiru during a Dhiraagu cable installation

A part of Henveiru has lost power due to an electrical short during the installation of a Dhiraagu cable in the ground.

An official of Dhiraagu in the area said that “electricity leaked” from an electric cable and smoke started to rise during the installation after which the area lost power.

People in the area say that they lost power after an electrical cable was severed during the course of the Dhiraagu cable installation. The incident took place on Raivilaa Hingun.

STELCO personnel are in the area working to resolve a temporary solution while working to fix the actual problem.
