Maldives Correctional Service has ordered the former President Mohamed Nasheed, currently in London, to send proof that he is undergoing medical treatment via the hospital.
Information Officer of the Correctional Service, Hassan Ali told Sun Media today that only one document was attached to the letter sent by Ex-President to the Correctional Service requesting an extension on his medical visit.
“We (Correctional Service) have ordered Nasheed to collect all the documents mentioned in the regulation. And from the email address of the hospital where Nasheed is getting treatment, to send the relevant documents about his treatment.” Hassan Ali said.
A request was made on behalf of the former President to extend his medical visit to London by two months via a letter sent on Monday.
Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed went to UK on medical treatment on 21 January for 30 days. The Government has previously said that if Nasheed makes a request, it can be extended to 45 days.
