Housing: Thin Ruh Park will be done by end of February

Housing Ministry has said that Thin Ruh Park – to where the Tsunami monument has been shifted and is being developed – will be done and opened to public by end of February.

Tsunami monument was shifted to Thin Ruh Park on Monday night. And there is still a lot of work to be done.

An official from Housing Ministry spoke to “Sun” on Tuesday and said that they were currently working on placing Tsunami monument there, and that the work would be done by end of the month.

“Work is scheduled to be completed by end of this month. It will be opened with a ceremony. I think it will be opened in first week of March,” said the official.

Thin Ruh Park said the delay in completing Thin Ruh Park – previously scheduled to open in January – was due to the team working on the park having to work on the new artificial beach – Rasfannu.

Director General of Public Work Services, Mohamed Afeef Hussein has said that the park, once complete, would be a scenic public space for people to relax in.

Tsunami monument was shifted to Thin Ruh Park to construct the Male-Hulhule bridge there.
