Government welcomes Ban Ki-moon

The President’s office has welcomed the United Nation’s call on all political parties to resolve the current political crisis peacefully and through dialogue, and said that this is a call to proceed with the government’s road map.

“We welcome Ban Ki-moon’s statement. What he really called for is to proceed with the road map talks proposed by the President on 16 February,” said that government spokesperson Abbas Adil Riza.

As the statement stressed the importance of finding a mutually agreeable way forward on the basis of the Constitution, Abbas expressed confidence that this would end the calls for an early election against the Constitution.

The statement issued by Ban Ki-moon urged all parties involved to resume political dialogue within and outside the Parliament, to resolve the current issues.
