Mother arrested for murder in Noomaraa

A woman has been arrested in Sh. Noomaraa for murder of her 4-year-old daughter.

Police have confirmed that a 29-year-old woman was arrested from Noomaraa on Thursday in relation to the death of the 4-year-old.

President of Noomaraa Island Council, Ahmed Vishan said that the incident occurred sometime during Wednesday night. And that the suspicious for the murder strongly fell on the mother – who he said was not altogether mentally stable.

The murder was reported to Council by the grandfather of the girl, who said he discovered the girl dead when he woke up for dawn prayer.
