Remand of the Magistrate of Maamgili Court extended by seven days

The Magistrate of the A.Dh. Maamiligi Court, Judge Ahmed Nihan arrested in the case of the forged court order to arrest President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has had his remand extended by seven days by the High Court.

Former Prosecutor General (PG) Muhuthaaz Muhusin, who was also arrested in the case, was released today when he was taken to court to make a decision about his remand.

Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed is also suspected to be involved in the case.

Police have said that former President, Nasheed called a high-ranking officer of the military and urged the officer to arrest the President.

President Nasheed himself has admitted that he talked to Brigadier General Zakariya Mansoor.
