Completion of construction of a sewerage system in N. Holhudhoo and completion of the coastal protection project was celebrated in the island on Monday.
President Abdulla Yameen, who is currently on a visit to Noonu Atoll was chief guest of the ceremony.
Holhudhoo MVR 50.2 million sewerage project was assigned to Male Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) in 2014.
MWSC said that by the end of the project, 2 pump stations had been built, along with a sewerage network of 5,865 meters.
A 170 meter long pipe has been built to pump out the sewage into the ocean.
The MVR 23.8 million coastal protection project was assigned to Maldives Transport and Construction Company (MTCC).
