Probe begins into death of 10-year-old crushed under loader

Government has started investigation into death of 10-year-old Amanulla from G. Dh. Faresmaathoda, who died from injuries after being crushed under a loader on Monday.

Environment Ministry has released a statement saying that all relevant government institutions had now started the probe into Amanulla’s death.

Faresmaadhoda Island Council Vice President Ahmed Zahir, in his interview with “Sun” said that some people were saying Amanulla had been on the bucket of the loader when the driver started the engine. And that the driver had been unaware of the fact.

Faresmaathoda Health Center Senor Administrator Shammoon Mohamed said that Amanulla’s face was completely crushed when he was taken to the hospital.

He had died while he was being transported to Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital in G. Dh. Thinadhoo for further treatment.

Environment Ministry said in their statement that they would receive full cooperation of the contractor of the project the loader was being used for.

The driver is under police arrest.
