Dunya: Chinese investors come to Maldives because the government is good

Foreign Minister, Dunya Maumoon has said that the media is questioning why Chinese investors are coming to the Maldives and the answer is because the Maldives has a good government.

Speaking at the function to celebrate the Chinese New Year held at Hotel Jen tonight, Minister Dunya said that the Maldives is a good destination for investors.

Minister Dunya said that the Maldives has policies that assure guarantees to investors and foreign partners. She said that it’s those policies that empower the country’s sustainability at the international community.

The Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Wang Fukang also spoke at the ceremony saying that the interactions between the people of China and the Maldives are increasing and is enriching the relationship between the two countries. Speaking of these interactions, Ambassador Fukang said that the China has been the biggest market to the Maldives six years running and the number of Chinese nationals visiting the Maldives is on the rise.

Former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed, Defense Minister Adam Shareef and other high ranking government officials were in attendance along with other foreign dignitaries at the function tonight.
