Ex-President Nasheed meets with Secretary General of Common Wealth

Former President Mohamed Nasheed in UK for a spine surgery has met with the Secretary General of the Common Wealth, Kamlesh Sharma.

Former First Lady Laila Ali and the MDP Chairperson Ali Waheed joined the former President at the meeting.

The details of the meeting are yet unclear. President Nasheed announced the meeting on his official Twitter account.

Nasheed has met with the British Prime Minister, David Cameron as well on this medical visit.

President Nasheed was serving a 13-year prison sentence after being convicted to terrorism before he was allowed by the government for medical treatment abroad.
