Thinadhoo Council: All the generators available has been brought and begun use

G.Dh. Thinadhoo Island Council has said that all the generators available to bring a temporary solution to the electricity situation on the island has been brought in and begun using.

Member of Thinadhoo Island Council, Saudu Ali told Sun Media tonight that there were eight generators available and all of them have been activated.

Electrical Generators brought in and their use:

• 160 kilowatt generator is being used to power the water plant.

• 125 kilowatt generator is being use to power Thinadhoo Court, Abubakr School, University Campus and BML.

• 75 kilowatt generator donated by Dhiraagu is being used to power sections of the hospital.

• 10 kilowatt generator donated by Ooredoo is being used at the hospital.

• Another 50 kilowatt and 125 kilowatt generators are also powering sections of the hospital.

• 18 kilowatt generator place near the burned down powerhouse is providing electricity.

• 8 kilowatt generator is powering the Island Council.

Councilman Saud said that they are currently working on bringing a 250 kilowatt generator from G.A. Kooddoo to power the rest of the hospital.

Thinadhoo powerhouse was completely destroyed in a fire on Monday night. Although some institutes are being powered by individual generators, local houses still does not have any electricity.
