Disaster Management Center provides 1,800 liters of kerosene to Thinadoo

National Disaster Management Center has provided 1,800 liters of kerosene to G. Dh. Thinadhoo to light lamps after fire in the island’s powerhouse Monday night plunged the whole island into darkness.

National Disaster Management Center released a short press release to state that they sent the kerosene on Tuesday.

The center said that they distributed 1.5 liters of kerosene to each household before the sun set.

“Council, military, school teachers principle and cadets participated in distributing the kerosene,” read the statement.

Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, Mohamed Nimal has said that though arrangements would be made to provide temporary electricity services to important institutions, electricity services to households would be provided Friday or Saturday, at the earliest.

Nimal said that generators to provide temporary electricity services would be sent from Male’ on Wednesday night.
