IGMH: Doctor of Kulhudhuffushi hospital is in IGMH for an assessment

Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has said that the doctor of Aishath Fariyaal (Sinamaage, H.Dh. Kulhudhuffushi), who died after bleeding out following a cesarean, is working at IGMH to be assessed by the hospital.

Information Officer of hospital, Zeenath Ali Habeeb told Sun Media today that Dr. Luis is being assessed at the request of the Health Ministry.

She said that the doctor is not employed at the hospital.

Dr. Luis was suspended by the Health Ministry after 33-year-old Fariyaal died at IGMH after she was transferred to the hospital when the doctor could not stop her bleeding.

The Health Ministry said that the case is being investigated and steps would be taken against those responsible in the wrongful death of Aishath Fariyaal.
