Speaker of Saudi Arabia’s Shura Council, Dr Abdulla bin Mohamed bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, has donated $100,000 to the Islamic University of Maldives (IUM).

This was announced on Twitter by Vice Chancellor of IUM, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

Dr Shaheem said that the donation was made during a meeting at the university on Monday.

Dr Abdulla met with the Chancellor and senior officials of IUM on Monday.

He arrived in Maldives on Sunday on the invitation of Speaker of Parliament of Maldives, Abdulla Maseeh.

As part of his visit, Dr Abdulla has also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon and visited Ministry of Islamic Affairs.
