Consulate to give away 2,500 tickets for Maldives-Afghanistan match

The Consulate of Maldives in Thiruvananthapuram, India, has announced that it is giving away 2,500 free tickets for the final group-stage match in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Suzuki Cup, between Maldives and Afghanistan.

Consul Ali Adam encouraged Maldivians to collect the tickets from the Consulate, available from 9:30 a.m. onwards on Monday.

The Consulate received the complementary tickets following discussions with Trivandrum District Football Association, WSG, and Football Association of Maldives (FAM).

Ali Adam said that 862 tickets had been collected so far, and many supporters are still queuing up.

He said that the Consulate’s efforts to ensure Maldivian supporters gather in one location at the stadium have been successful, as 1,500 of the complementary tickets are for seats in the same block.

Free tickets would also be available to Maldivians from 5:00 p.m. at the main gate of Trivandrum International Stadium.

The match is set to kick-off at 6:30 p.m.
