Installation of speed breakers begin on the streets of Addu City

Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) has begun the installation of speed breakers on the streets of Addu City.

Head of Communication and Media at MRDC, Shaarif Mohamed told Sun Media today that speed breakers are being installed at four of the link islands of Addu City at a fast pace.

“They are Feydhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Maradhoo and Hithadhoo. We began that work on tenth of this month.” Shaarif said. “We are estimating that the work can be completed in the middle of next month.”

He said that aside from installing speed breakers, they are also repairing the roads, putting up road signs and building parking spaces.

A number of people have been killed on the streets of Addu City over the past years due to speeding.
