Gender Ministry to Dr. Muizzu, Foreign Ministry to Umar

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been temporarily charged with running the Ministry of Law and Gender while the Home Minister Umar Naseer has been charged with running the Foreign Ministry temporarily.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali told Sun Media that the two ministries were charged to two other Ministers because the ministers are out of the country or on leave.

Muaz said that since Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon and Attorney General Mohamed Anil are out of the country at this time, Housing Minister Dr. Muizzu has been temporarily charged with running the Ministry of Law and Gender while the Home Minister Umar has been charged with running the Foreign Ministry.

Similar changes to the ministries have been brought in the past as well when ministers are out of the country or on leave.
