President establishes Senior Policy Executive position

President Abdulla Yameen has established senior policy executive position and transferred many deputy ministers to the position.

President’s Office Spokesperson Ibrahim Muaz Ali informed “Sun” on Tuesday that the decision would bring about a major change to how ministries are run.

He said that people who were transferred to senior policy executive position would be doing policy level work, and that no one new had been appointed to the position.

“So the top won’t be that heavy anymore, right? Officials who are already working as deputy ministers have been transferred to the position.”
