ACC questions Adeeb regarding Fushidiggarufalhu case

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has questioned former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb who they suspect of signing an agreement to lease K. Fushidiggarufalhu for development as a tourist resort in such a way that it facilitated corruption.

Adeeb’s lawyer Moosa Siraj informed “Sun” that Adeeb was questioned regarding the case last Friday.

Siraj said that the joint venture agreement was signed by Adeeb as a witness, and that Finance Minister Abdula Jihad had signed the agreement on behalf of government.

The agreement in question was signed during former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s presidency. Siraj said that Adeeb had told ACC he signed the agreement on behest of current President Abdulla Yameen.

The case was filed by Human Rights Ambassador during President Waheed’s presidency, Ahmed Ibrahim Didi (Sandhaan Ahammaidhy).

ACC has asked Tourism Ministry that all work on Fushidiggarufalhu be kept on hold until the issue is resolved.
