Police release 13 people arrested in the protest rally

Police have released the 13 people arrested in MDP’s “To Be Free” protest rally.

Information Officer of the Police, Ismail Ali told Sun Media that they were all released today.

He said that even though they were released, they are being investigated.

Police said that the 13 people were arrested for leaving the protest area of Artificial Beach and taking to the streets against Police orders and trying to create unrest on the streets.

While the 13 people arrested yesterday evening have been released, MDP National Council member, Anwar Ibrahim who was arrested last night is still in Police custody.

People arrested yesterday evening include the former Education Minister Dr. Musthafa Luthufee and member of the MDP Media Committee, Mohamed Waheed.
