President Abdulla Yamin concluded his speech with two questions. He asked if the Maldivian people are capable of making decision about the country and if the Maldivian people have the right to make decision about the country.

Development projects announced by the President: • This Government has completed 16 harbor projects, 45 harbor projects are underway and 23 harbor repairs have begun as well. • Dredging completed in five islands and the project is ongoing in 9 islands. • Road construction completed in three islands. • Fresh water made available in nine islands, and the project is ongoing in five islands. • This Government has established sewage systems in 15 islands. • Pharmacies have been opened in all the islands (185 islands) in the Maldives. • President also said that 60 properties were given to the tourism sector

President Yamin said that he hopes that Maldives become and productive and rich country and that the young generation is a responsible one.

President said that the State of Emergency was lifted with difficulty and it was not an easy decision to make. And he said that it was a decision made, for the sake of the people.

The President said that weapons were found by diving underwater and from houses. And he said that explosives were also found from the houses with detonation devices.
