Minors arrested with drugs

Four minors have been arrested in K. Maafushi with a cellophane bag of suspected drugs.

Police said that they took four children between the ages of 13 – 16 into custody on Friday.

While drugs were found where they were arrested, Police said that their urine also tested positive for drugs.

“When these four children was taken into custody and was searched along with where they were and under the Jolifathi (traditional weaved seat) they were sitting, a cellophane bag containing what is suspected to be drugs were found.” Police said.

When they were taken to Court to decide their remand, all four were ordered into house arrest for ten days.
