Maafushi Prison has begun a blood drive today open to the public.
It is a joint event by the Maafushi Prison, Emergency Support Group (ESG) and Maldivian Blood Service.
Speaking at the inauguration of the blood drive, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, Hassan Zilaal said that the blood drive is being hosted with a big involvement of the Maafushi Prison and the ESG officers.
He said that getting blood has been a very difficult thing for a lot of people and supporting such a cause is further support to go forward for the institute.
Zilaal said that they would try to conduct more of such programs.
This is the second blood drive in Maafushi Prison.
