Bangladeshi national detained at Hulhumal

A foreign national kept in Hulhumalé Detention Centre has died.

Moosa Zameer, information officer of Maldives Correctional Service, told Sun Media that the deceased has been named as Alam, 26, from Bangladesh.

Alam died at 1:15 p.m. Friday while being treated in hospital for chest pains.

Zameer said that Alam was handed over to Maldives Correctional Service by Department of Immigration and Emigration on 12 October 2015 for residing illegally in the Maldives.
