Minister of Home Affairs Umar Naseer has assured the family of Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla, the missing Minivan News journalist, of the government’s commitment to finding the truth behind his disappearance.

Former Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed said earlier that despite repeated efforts, police had not been able to establish the reason behind Rilwan’s disappearance.
Police said in their latest statement regarding the investigation that 387 people had been questioned and statements had been obtained from 128 people.
Rilwan went missing in August 2014. He was last seen at Hulhumalé Ferry Terminal in Malé.
