President to address the country at 10 a.m.

President Abdulla Yamin Abdul Gayoom will be addressing the nation at 10 a.m. today regarding the state of the country.

Spokesperson of the President’s Office, Ibrahim Muaz Ali tweeted last night that the President will be making the address today. But at the time, he did not say when the address would take place.

Muaz tweeted today that the President would make a formal address on the current state of the country at 10 a.m. today.

As the President is preparing to make the address, Vice President Ahmed Adheeb was arrested yesterday and charged with high treason.

This is the first time President Abdulla Yamin is making a formal address since the explosion on board the Presidential Launch.
