Tsunami monument to be moved to Thin Ruh Park

Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure has said that the Tsunami monument would be moved to Thin Ruh Park.

Speaking at a press conference by the Public Works Department of the ministry, Director General Mohamed Afeef said the transfer would be completed before the end of November.

Afeef said it was delayed due to pending work at Thin Ruh Park.

The monument is being relocated for the bridge project, because the Malé-end of the bridge will be at the monument area.

Housing Ministry’s target was to move it before the end of this month.

The Tsunami Monument was put up to commemorate Maldivians who died in the 2004 tsunami.
