Met Office warns for heavy rain and flooding in southern atolls

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has warned for heavy rain and flooding in southern Maldives.

A Met Office official told Sun Media that bad weather is expected in islands between Laamu and Addu atolls today.

Yellow Alert has been issued for this region, which will experience thunder, heavy rain, and gusty winds up to 40 miles per hour.

Bad weather is expected in general across the country over the next two days, the official said.
