President Waheed invited to Queen Elizabeth

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik and his wife have been invited to join the special ceremony to celebrate the 86th birthday of the Queen of the Commonwealth realms, Elizabeth II.

An official of President’s Office said today that the President has accepted the invitation sent by Commonwealth Secretary General Kamalesh Sharma.

In the letter, the Secretary General invited President Waheed to join a meeting between the leaders of Commonwealth countries in London, to celebrate the Queen’s diamond jubilee.

The formal dinner will be attended by the Queen and her husband Duke of Edinburgh.
