Interpol issues red notice to find two suspects in the attack on Mahfooz

Interpol has issued a red notice to find two suspects believed to be involved in the attack on lawyer Mahfooz Saeed, a member of the former President, Mohamed Nasheed’s legal team.

Police said that while Interpol has issued the noted, Raaid Ahmed and Shafraz Ibrahim Hussain are two suspects the Police are looking for.

Lawyer Mahfooz was stabbed at around 5:20 p.m. on 4 September 2015 while he was in the backseat of a motorcycle on Maaveyo Magu, by two people on another motorcycle.

There have been no arrests made regarding the attack. And there was no indication that the Police were looking for suspects.

Mahfooz was stabbed on the left side of his face close to the eye socket. He was sent to Sri Lanka for further treatment after a surgery at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
