Police raid beauty parlour and arrest two Maldivians

A Maldivian woman and man have been arrested following illegal sexual conduct in a beauty parlour.

Police said that they were arrest last night at New Image Beauty Salon located at M. Blue lake lodge. The woman is 26 and the man is 40 years old.

Police said that they were caught inside a room, under an operation by Serious and Organised Crime Department.

Islamic Ministry stated a few days ago that most places suspected of prostitution have been closed down, but they still had a list of suspected places.

Last month, ten foreign women and three Maldivians were arrested under suspicion of prostitution in a beauty parlour in Maafannu.

This is the eighth place to be closed down for suspicion of prostitution since the government changed.
