MTCC conducts blood drive open to the public

A blood drive began this morning hosted by the MTCC and the Maldives Blood Donors.

The drive is being held at the Hulhumalé Ferry Terminal. Inaugurating the blood drive, the first donor in the program was the CEO of MTCC, Ibrahim Abdul-Razzaq Haleem.

MTCC said that a large number of Maldivians require blood transfusions repeatedly and there are also people who need blood all the time. And so the target of the program is to assist those people.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony this morning, the CEO of MTCC, Haleem said that the program would serve as proof that MTCC is not only a company that assists in the infrastructure of the country, but also takes part in the country’s social aspects.

Health Minister Iruthisham Adam also took part in the inauguration ceremony today saying that the MTCC began a very important program today by opening it to the public. And the Minister thanked the company for such a program to help the people in need of blood across the country.

The Blood Drive is being conducted at the terminal area of the Hulhumalé Ferry Terminal. And so the MTCC has opened the opportunity to donate blood to the public.

The Blood Drive would continue until 6 p.m. today.
