Maafushi Council President suspended

President of Kaafu Maafushi Council Mohamed Mustafa has been suspended.

Vice President of Maafushi Council Aishath Liusha said that Mustafa was suspended for making decisions on his own, on issues in which he has personal interest.

Liusha said that Mustafa has stake in guest-house business in the island and at the same time, as council president, chairs meetings on issues related to guest-houses.

He was suspended by Kaafu Atoll Council which will give details later, said Liusha.

Kaafu Atoll Council was unavailable for a comment at the time of publication.
