Leader of Maldives Development Alliance (MDA) Ahmed Siyam Mohamed has said, in his Eid greetings message to the people of Maldives, that unity and closeness should be part and parcel of the Maldivian lifestyle.
In his message, Siyam urged people to remember those in need and ensure they are included in the Eid celebrations.
While engaging in the festivities on this joyous occasion, Siyam said he was reminded of historical sentiments of solidarity that have existed and prospered among Maldivian brothers and sisters.
The Maldivian lifestyle has always been free from division and prejudice, and is one of kindness, affability and compassion, Siyam said.
He called on all Maldivians to ensure that these qualities are prominent in our society even today, and reminded that the guiding principle that led them to their destination is their holy religion, Islam.
“It is my sincere prayer that we are blessed with the wisdom to celebrate Eid with compassion for one another and within the boundaries of Islam, and that we remain resolute in the sacred situation we find ourselves today.”
