Bad weather to continue today, tomorrow

Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has warned that bad weather will continue the rest of today as well as tomorrow.

Met Office said that in the 24 hours starting from 10:00 a.m. today, winds will be between 8 miles per hour (mph) and 18 mph in southern atolls, and between 13 and 23 mph in other regions.

Gusty winds of up to 40 mph can be expected during rainstorms, Met Office said.

The authority also advised caution when travelling by sea, as seas are expected to be rough across the country.

Police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) have also warned for bad weather as travel is expected to increase during Eid holidays.
