Sunken seaplane pulled up in Kanifushi Resort

The Trans Maldivian Airways (TMA) seaplane that sank while docked at the harbour in Lhaviyani Kanifushi Resort, has been pulled onto land.

No one was injured in the incident.

An official of Kanifushi Resort told Sun Online that the boat was pulled up by a team of TMA engineers who arrived in the island today.

He said that reports of the aircraft sinking were received during strong winds early morning on Monday.

One of the two floaters of the aircraft was damaged during take-off yesterday, following which tourists and other passengers were asked to disembark, and were taken to the airport on another TMA aircraft, the official said.
