A small launch at the west harbor of A.Dh. Maamigili has sunk due to strong winds and bad weather.
Vice President of the Maamiligi Council, Abdulla Mufeed told Sun Media today that after reports came in, they went to the scene to find the small launch crashing into the harbor with the bad weather.
He said that they brought a boat from Holiday Island Resort and the launch has been moved further out and anchored with the assistance from the Police.
“We made is so that it won’t crash into the harbor. Half of it was submerged when it was anchored.” Mufeed said.

Councilor Mufeed said that the work was mainly done by the Police with the assistance from a boat from Holiday Island.
He said that it was a small launch with the capacity of about ten people with a 175 horsepower engine. And the Councilor said that to his knowledge, it was a launch that came to the island from Dh. Meedhoo and belongs to someone from that island.
